ANDY POIRIER

“I booked a consultation with Paul Ashmore and let him know what my plans were and how much I was willing to spend. He not only saved me a BOAT LOAD of money and headache, but also took the time to go through my project in detail. He helped me pinpoint my weak links and advised me on the equipment that would benefit me. In the end, together we engineered a setup that really improved my tracking and mixing capabilities without buying all the excess I thought I needed.”

DANNY KIRSCH

“For me my consultancy was all about saving money. I have no idea how to build a studio from scratch and wasn’t prepared to spend my money with trial and error to find out. Paul advised me on materials, where to get them and how much I would need. I ended up building a studio that was built to a similar spec to his, which we all know is one of the best in the world. Without his expertise and knowledge I wouldn’t have the studio I have today. Money well spent.”

DAVID SPILL

“I contacted Paul Ashmore initially to enquire about his PMC speakers. It was important to me to get first hand user experience on them before spending £50k on monitors. A small price to pay considering the huge investment I was making. Paul walked me through his PMC system and advised me on exactly what I would need to achieve the best possible monitoring. He even introduced me to a PMC dealer who saved me a good amount of money.”

JASON LATTUCA

“I recently built a project studio, I spoke with Paul to ask his advice, he came down to my studio and completely reconfigured and calibrated all my software and hardware. He was on it all day and didn’t stop from 8am to 5:30pm. He was well mannered, super respectful and appreciative of my property and equipment. Super polite and professional and got my studio running like a dream. Brilliant service.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What Happens If I Need To Reschedule My Consultation?

If you need to reschedule your consultation, I’m happy to arrange a new date without any additional charge, provided I haven’t already incurred any non-refundable costs. If I have already booked hotels, flights or other non-refundable expenses specifically for your consultation, those costs will need to be covered. Otherwise, there is no additional charge for rescheduling. I’ll work with you to find a new date and time that is convenient for both of us.

What Is Included In A One-To-One In-Person Consultation?

A one-to-one in-person consultation includes a visit from me to your chosen location. During the session, we can cover any area you would like, including studio setup, cable management, signal routing, equipment selection, business advice, workflow improvements and any of the other services offered through my consultancy. The main advantage of an in-person consultation is the ability to work through everything together, face to face and in your actual environment. This makes the session highly practical, interactive and tailored specifically to your needs, allowing me to assess your setup directly, answer questions as they arise and provide clear recommendations based on what I can see in front of me.

How Long Does Each Consultation Session Last?

Each consultation is booked on a full-day basis, with sessions lasting up to 10 hours. In some cases we may finish slightly earlier, while in others we may run a little over, depending on what is required. The priority is to make sure everything planned for the day is properly covered and completed, rather than working to a rigid hourly limit. If it becomes clear that additional time or a second day would be beneficial, this can be discussed and arranged separately, subject to availability. The service is therefore charged as a day rate, giving you a dedicated day of focused, hands-on consultancy tailored to your specific needs.

Can Consultations Be Held Outside Of The UK?

Yes, I can offer in-person consultations outside of the UK. International consultations are priced on a bespoke basis, as the total cost will depend on the destination, travel requirements, accommodation and any other necessary expenses. The pricing shown on this page is specifically for UK-based consultations. If you are located overseas and would like to arrange a consultation, please get in touch with me directly. I can then discuss your requirements, work out the logistics and provide a tailored quotation that covers everything needed for the visit.

What Types Of Topics Can We Cover During The Consultation?

During the consultation, we can cover virtually any area relating to your studio, workflow or business. This can include cable management, equipment selection and installation, Avid S4 setup, studio configuration, mastering chain design, Dante routing, converter integration and overall system optimisation. We can also spend time on business strategy, pricing, services, workflow, growth and any of the other areas covered through my consultancy. The session is completely tailored to your requirements. Rather than following a fixed agenda, the aim is to focus on the areas that will provide the most value to you and work through them in a practical, hands-on way.

How Should I Prepare For My In-Person Consultation?

To get the most from your in-person consultation, preparation is important. The more organised everything is before I arrive, the more we can achieve within the available time. I recommend having a clear idea of what you would like to cover and making sure any equipment, cables, documents, software or other materials we may need are ready in advance. For example, if the session will involve cabling or installation work, having the correct cables and any necessary preparation completed beforehand will allow us to spend more time on the areas where my input adds the most value. The aim is to use the consultation time as efficiently as possible, focusing on practical problem-solving, decision-making and implementation rather than tasks that could easily have been completed beforehand. Good preparation helps ensure we can cover more, work in greater depth and make the most of the day.

What If I Need More Than One Session To Cover All My Questions?

If you need more than one session to cover everything, you can simply book additional time as required. If, during the consultation, you decide you would like to continue for longer, I can check my availability and either extend the session where possible or arrange a follow-up consultation for another date. This flexibility allows us to work through your questions and requirements at a pace that suits you, without having to rush important decisions or discussions.

Are There Additional Costs For Follow-Up Support After The Consultation?

Follow-up support will depend on what you need after the consultation. If you simply have a few quick questions or need clarification on something we covered during the session, I’m happy to help at no additional cost. If you require more detailed follow-up support, further analysis, or an in-depth discussion, this would be booked as an additional one-to-one online consultation. The aim is to make sure you have the support you need after the session, whether that is a quick clarification or a more comprehensive follow-up.

What If I Need More Than One Session?

If you feel you’ll need more than one session, you can book multiple days in advance when placing your order. For example, if you expect the work to require several days, you can arrange consecutive consultation days from the outset. It’s also possible to add further sessions once the consultation has started. If my schedule allows, additional days can sometimes be arranged immediately, or we can book a suitable follow-up date. This gives you the flexibility to extend the consultancy as needed and make sure there is enough time to cover everything properly.

How Do I Arrange A Consultation At My Studio Or Preferred Location?

To arrange a consultation at your studio or preferred location, you can place your order directly through the product page. Once your order has been received, I’ll get in touch with you to discuss your requirements and arrange a suitable date and time. If you would prefer to discuss the consultation before booking, you’re welcome to contact me directly by email or phone. I’m happy to answer any questions beforehand and make sure the consultation is the right fit for what you need.
